Shere Car Park – Shere Parish Council

Shere Car Park is owned by the Trustees of Shere Recreation Ground and has been managed and operated by Shere Parish Council since 2008.
The car park is located on London Lane, Shere at the eastern end of Upper Street, Shere. The main car park has approximately 90 spaces.
Charging will be implemented by the car park operator Anchor Security Services Limited T/A Ocean Parking, with the following structure:

£1 per hour or part of an hour
First 30 minutes free of charge on every separate visit to the car park with no limit on the number of visits in a day
Operating hours are 9am-6pm 7 days a week
No charge on Christmas Day
Blue Badge holders to pay parking fee over the 30 minutes free
Pay after use option – up to 24 hours to pay
Stays can be extended
Grace periods are in-line with the BPA/IPC Single Code of Practice
PCNs (parking charge notices) will be issued by the car park operator

Shere Car Park Charging Exemption Application Form

The general public and residents have 30 minutes free parking in the main Shere Car Park. For Parish residents there is also free kerbside parking throughout the village and access to the ‘Residents and Sports Club cars only’ area adjacent to the main car park. All parking is subject to availability.
The money collected through charging in the main car park will be placed in a Parish Community Fund, to pay for the upkeep of the car park and appropriate parish maintenance and improvement projects. If on occasion a Parish Resident has to pay for the car park, due to a longer stay or lack of space elsewhere, the Council hopes that you will consider it a contribution to this Parish Community Fund.
For other exceptional reasons, applications for an exemption will be considered and if accepted your car registration number will be added to an exemption list, allowing free use of the main car park (subject to availability), in addition to the free residents and sports club area.
Please note that there is an iPad/tablet in Shere School, Shere Surgery and Shere Village Hall to request a temporary exemption for visitors and occasional users.
