Shere is a picturesque village with a rich history dating back to the 11th century. Renowned for its timber-framed houses, medieval church and as a popular filming location, it attracts visitors throughout the year.
Due to its historic layout, the village has narrow lanes which can become congested. Visitors are therefore encouraged to plan their journey and parking arrangements in advance.
By car:
Visitors are asked to use the designated village car park (postcode GU5 9HE), located in the centre of the village within easy walking distance of shops, attractions and local businesses.
-
The entrance can be found off Upper Lane, what3words: ///page.forks.icon
Please avoid parking on surrounding lanes.
Limited on-street parking is available around Gomshall Lane; however, please ensure that buses and emergency vehicles can pass safely.
Please do not park along Shere Lane, as there is insufficient width for emergency access when vehicles are parked there.
